Summer Anime 2013 ~ Reviews ~ Part 1 [Watamote, Sunday Without God, Silver Spoon, Brothers Conflict, Free!]

Watamote [Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaetemo Omaera ga Warui!]:
Social anxiety and awkwardness is something we can all pretty much relate to. Don't lie. You know you've had your fair share of embarrassing moments, but, here, Tomoko takes social awkwardness to a whole different level - forcing us to relive those tragic bleak moments of our lives, while allowing us to laugh at ourselves too.

Especially the ones from Japan.
They have my total respect."

❤ ♥ ✿ Usagi Drop Review! ✿ ♥ ❤

From the same studio that brought us this . . . this . . . and this!, is a heartwarming series about a middle-aged man named, Daikichi, and an adorable little girl named, Rin. And although Production I.G is an animation studio that is generally praised for its highly detailed and fluid animation, it is always nice to see a little flexibility in their art. It was also nice to see them stir away from their usual Sci-Fi works like say, Ghost in the Shell series, or the recent airing anime series, Psycho Pass. Usagi Drop stands out in an ocean of technological dramas and offers us a simpler approach.

This show is basically the anime equivalent of a warm hug. :)

Winter 2013 Anime [Final Impressions]

Team Kent!<3

Amnesia:
Reverse harems. Gotta love them. But I've seen better. Although, game and VN adaptations tend to run on a different level from say, manga adaptations. Pacing, for example, is different. In this case, the direction the anime took was very similar to its game counterpart. You've got your main heroine on one hand, and your group of bishies lined up and ready to woo her on the other. But in terms of plot, the story isn't exactly grade A material and the characters are very one-dimensional. Nevertheless, the mystery behind the series did keep me piqued and curious, and the animation was top notch. However, the mystery and fanservice began to lose its flare about halfway through the series. The show is mediocre at best. [6.85/10] - D+

Hello~ Since I haven't gotten around to my final impressions post from last season, I thought I'd share my last impressions on the two-cour series from Fall12 that finished along with the anime of Winter13. I'll post my final impressions on Winter13 sometime next week, along with a post of my first impressions of Spring13. Lately, a lot of my focus has been on school work and such, which explains my lack of activity here. Please understand, fleshing out posts here takes a lot more of my time, but I am pretty active on Twitter and Tumblr. Drop by if you'd like. :)

Avatar: The Legend of Korra - First Impressions

I know, I know. This isn't an anime. But for an American cartoon, it's as good as it gets. I love the Avatar series so when I heard about the spin-off, I was pretty excited. I immediately downloaded the first two episodes on itunes! Although, the TV series is not due to air until April 14th on Nickelodeon.
