Shinsekai yori 25: Final Impressions

Unlike my prior speculations, the overall outcome was a lot more obvious and direct than I anticipated.  Nevertheless, it managed to deliver one fantastic, complacent episode.

Shinsekai yori: Hell on Earth

Due to a slight mix of academic priorities and laziness, I have refrained from blogging SSY these past 2 months.  And so, being only one episode away from what I hope will be an excellent ending, I would like to share with you my thoughts on the series thus far - before giving my final impressions on the series all together next week.  Sigh.  It was a fun ride.

Shinsekai yori 09 - 14

Boy was putting off these past 6 episodes a big mistake.  Although I do feel somewhat thankful that I did. That way, I didn't have to deal with that agonizing suspense and the knowledge that I would have to wait another week for the next episode.  Kind of like I am dealing with it now. DAMN IT!  There is something kind of addicting about this series and the world behind it.

Shinsekai yori 07: An Episode That Just Leaves Me Wanting More

♪ Reunited and it feels so good. ♫

The gang is all together again!  Huzzah!  However, what lies behind that beautiful reunion is what is most interesting.  We know that Satoru and Saki were involved in an all out war between the Queerats and the Ground Spiders.  So what are the chain of events that occurred during their time of separation with Shun and the others?  Judging by Maria's reaction to Saki's new found friend, Squealer, their adventure may have been a tamer one.

Shinsekai yori 05: Pursuit on a Hot Night

I resent that.

Biologically speaking, 98% of our human DNA is compatible to that of a primate's.  Chimpanzees, to be exact.  We may not be as interactive as bonobos, but animals we most certainly are.

Shinsekai yori 04 + Anthropology 101

Shinsekai yori raises a lot questions, this week, along with a lot of answers. Finally, the plot has begun to move forward, and although this episode still carried a lot of world building, it was highly entertaining to watch. But for some reason I just couldn't stop thinking about my anthropology class XD.

One of the most interesting things about Shinsekai yori is the way it tells its story. From the suspense, to the slice of life, to the foreshadowing . . . I would be pretty terrified if I were to find myself living in this world. Especially a powerless being like me.
